Cavallino 2019

The Palm Beach Cavallino Classic was held January 23-27 in Florida. Now in its 28th year celebrating the Ferrari marque, it kicks off the concours show season with the highlight being the Concorso d’Eleganza, an all-Ferrari show on Saturday at The Breakers Hotel with a multi-make show Classic Sport Sunday at the nearby Mar-a-Lago property the following day.

Unfortunately, the weather gods were really not cooperating as umbrellas and waterproof clothing replaced the typically chic Florida dress code.  Turnout was understandably down slightly in numbers of cars and attendees, however, the top lawn of The Breakers still featured a mouthwatering display of Competition and Sports Racing Ferraris. Heavyweights included no less than three 315 and 335S variants, 412, 410, TR59/60, TRs, GTO, TDF and SWBs to name most. And the main award of the day went to the stunning 1958 335S chassis #0764 owned by Andreas Mohringer from Austria, so his Paul Russell restored beauty has now added Cavallino to its already impressive wins at Villa d’Este and Pebble Beach (1st in Class).

Our Favourite Moment: the 335S sitting quietly in the wet on the Breaker’s lawn.
